Hedi Slimane has already made some very noticeable changes to Yves Saint Laurent Paris, most notably in the name of the house. But Grazia reports that the creative director let the possibility of a YSL return to couture slip in an e-mail interview with Vogue Paris: “Haute couture is a legitimate subject for Yves Saint Laurent and could resume one day, the priority today is to revamp and redeploy the luxury ready-to-wear” One day, one day! Ralph Lauren might not have manufactured Team USA’s Olympic Opening Ceremony uniforms here in the States, but at least we’ll soon see some Olympians in American-made red, white, and blue outfits. The New York Post reports the Russian Olympic team has been in talks with American Apparel since 2011, negotiating a deal for the brand to produce their uniforms for 2014. CEO Dov Charney told The Post“[Russian Olympic team representatives] said they didn’t want anything that was made in China. It’s not just for the uniforms — it’s also the merchandise.Fashionista contacted a rep from American Apparel, who told them that Charney has offered to help Ralph Lauren re-produce the current Team USA uniforms: “American Apparel could start working on uniforms today and have them in London within 7 days.” Do you think Lauren should take Charney up on his offer? Kanye West’s DJ Khaled I Wish You Would Video En Noir Unisex Leather Sweat Pants

Kanye West was spied on the set for DJ Khaled’s I Wish You Would video in what has slowly become one of his signature looks: a black t-shirt and black leather pants. For this particular excursion, he slipped on a pair of $1,600 Unisex Leather Sweat Pants by En Noir:

The casual pants boast a baggy silhouette, and a zipper detail at the hem.

Hmm..I ‘get’ the allure of an easy sweat pant (in leather!), but the fit on these is all wrong. Kanye West has better pieces in his arsenal, no? But at least these weren’t falling down on him.

Guys, if you’re up for the splurge, inquire about buying at www.viveennoir.com.

Pharrell Williams Covers ES Magazine!

Superstar producer, singer, song writer and fashionista; Pharrell Williams covers this weeks ES magazine promoting his Billionaire Boy’s Club A/W collection available at Harrods.
Here are some excerpts from the exclusive interview:
On how his attitude has changed from the beginning of his career?
‘When I first got into this industry? Yes, I was. I was a little pompous. I got tired of it in the end. I didn’t become a monster, but I wasn’t as nice as I could have been.‘When I was young I didn’t understand how the music industry worked. I’ve done things I shouldn’t have done. I’m a human being. I was young. I was dumb. I thought I was a genius. I’d sold a couple of records.’
On his Legacy:
‘Loving life. Loving to inspire others. Hey, man, I don’t want to be thinking about my legacy, there’s still so much to learn. Learning is the most essential part to life as I know it. I’m an enthusiast. It’s what keeps me going. Because, left to my own devices, I’m naturally very lazy…’
On what’s on his iPod:
Right now I’m really into singer-songwriters. Not so much “Do you wanna dance?” as “She left lipstick on my collar”. I love Frank Ocean. Adele. I recently worked with Conor Maynard, a kid from Brighton who’s super-talented.’
